It provides the rotation that lets the brush roll agitate carpet for effective pickup, and it is built to take a grooved style belt. A motor that is failing causes the brush roll to stop turning or spin inconsistently, often with grinding noise or a burning smell. When the nozzle brush no longer rotates, replacing the
