ROSARIO VERA TEMPRANILLO skus_4384646 (Spring 2014) Reviewed by: GavinThis Rioja Tempranillo is a testament to the quality of the grapes of Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa, the 2 northernmost sub regions of Rioja, where Tempranillo thrives in the high altitudes (1,300 2,600 feet) at the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria. Aged in new French oak barrels for 10 months, this wine shows vibrant aromas of ripe berries, plum and red currant, balanced by the earthy notes of incense, black licorice, tobacco and toasty oak.
